Litt says that literature isn’t alien to technology and that literature depends on technology. the internet offers us temptations that other writers in the past did not have. Writers will continue to occur but as technology advances it will cause us to loose something just like how we lost something when we lost classical education. The advancement of technology has also led to the deterioration of literature.
Many people have been affected by technology. People nowadays do not read classical novels or other classical stories which has a part in why our vocabulary and literature is declining. People these days are more interested in comics, games, movies, videos from youtube, social media and many more. As technology advances people are becoming more lazy and just use the internet to try and solve the problems instead of actually trying. I think technology has affected my perceptions of more classical literature because even if i read some books today its different than the literature from the past. The types of stories that are driven by today is sci-fi, horror, fiction, supernatural etc. There are also many comic books and books based on tv shows.
Technology is disrupting the stories of today or the future because we are only focused on our technology like phone, laptop, TV, Ipad, game consoles etc. People are more focused on entertainment or the amount of followers they have on their social media platform or the amounts of likes they have. People are so focused on how to get famous in these platforms or what to watch etc that we are not even thinking about Classic literature, Before when technology wasn’t as advance people turn to books and literature as entertainment but if you ask kids and adults what they do for fun they will talk about technologies such as tv iPhone or games. This makes us not want to turn to books because it gets boring compared to all the technologies we have today. And if this continues in the future with even better technologies books may cease to exist. Like how many authors or directors talk about dystopic future.
Reading on a screen or through these various interfaces affects me in a negative way for me. In my opinion reading things online makes me more distracted with all the various ads around the website or page making me unable to focus on whats actually important. I like to read from books and pages because it feels more comfortable and i feel like i can understand it more while annotating, highlighting and writing notes i can do that on the ipad too but it just doesnt feel the same way.

I definitely agree with you that a lot of people are more interested in games, movies, and videos these days. I think you point out a very good point that one of the reasons for the decline in vocabulary and literature is because a lot of people don’t read classical stories anymore, and this is finally making me realize what some of my writing problems or other writers’ problems lie.
I agree with your point but I also believe technology helps in a simpler way as in pulling up various books being able to make notes on pages and easily erasing them or editing it. The wealth of information available at a moments notice as well as even pulling and searching specific phrases in a book instead of going through every page trying to pinpoint a sentence is a convenience.
I agree with you, the reading on the screen is challenging. fortunately, getting the answer quickly is only possible because of technology.
I disagree with you reading on the screen is easier for me. There are various features online that make annotating, highlighting, and writing notes easier. It doesn’t affect me in a negative way instead it has a positive effect. Reading online is more comfortable I can retain the information I learned and go back to it easily if I want to refresh my memory.
